Somatic Barre reimagines the traditional ballet class through a lens of mindfulness, fluidity, and self-expression.

Rooted in the foundational principles of classical ballet, this class emphasizes a more intuitive and mindful approach to technique, moving away from rigid perfectionism and inviting exploration of movement as a form of personal discovery and creative expression.

You'll engage the core principles of classical ballet technique while deepening your awareness of breath, alignment, and sensation through a combination of floor and standing exercises at the ballet barre, paired with guided stretching.

We will cultivate an embodied awareness of how each movement feels within your body, allowing you to refine technique not through force or external expectation, but through presence and attentiveness to your internal sensations.

Somatic practices are woven into each exercise, encouraging you to slow down, listen deeply to your body, and trust its innate wisdom. Rather than striving for perfection, you will learn to move with authenticity, embracing the unique strength, fluidity, and grace that exists in every body.

This class invites you to challenge the constraints of traditional ballet, honoring not only the beauty of movement but also the emotional and psychological power of self-expression.

Whether you are new to dance or have years of experience, Somatic Barre provides a welcoming environment for all levels. The class is designed to be adaptable to individual needs, allowing each student to explore their own level of challenge while creating a space for self-exploration, growth, and creative freedom.

Here, your body is the instrument of your expression, and your movement is an opportunity to reconnect to yourself in a deeper, more mindful way.
